01.13.2008 :: 13. Lucky 13 or dinner is ready!
Yesterday was a wonderful day of shopping with Bethany. In this day and age of different schedules and the running here and there it is nice to spend some time together. We had quite the smellerific day, including a trip to CO Bigelow and ending the day at Penzey's Spices. I bought nothing at CO Bigelow and lots and lots at Penzey's. I still cannot get over the $95 handcream we saw. Can you imagine? The tube was not as big as you'd want it to be for 95 bucks, which for me? Would be so big that I could not lift it. But maybe that is just me.
Knowing that it was a Patriots game night, I got the hankering for a bowl of chili and I mentioned such to Andy before leaving. To which he replied, "I'll make the chili". Stunned. Still am. Besides the occasional summer grilling, the man does not step near cookware. Which, honestly? Is fine with me.
But coming home to a fine smelling home and a bowl of the most delicious tasting chili to dive into? Makes me appreciate this occasional pot of chili even more.
I take mine with a bit of shredded monterey jack cheese on the top.
Yum.
I wonder if he'll cook tonight?

I really must learn to like football. Everyone is talking about yesterday's games, and I am all like, huh? The chili looks good, though.

Yay for chili made by The Man! Hee. If mine tried, I would probably die of a heart attack, but he makes a killer roasted chicken breast with NOTHING on it. (ho-hum) I just sliced one up and made some garlic mayo to spice it up on a piece of toast. That was my dinner. It was good, but chili woulda been better. :)

I love Penzey's and do a lot of mail order from them. I still haven't been to the store in Boston. We're having chili tomorrow night and I can't wait.
