02.07.2008 :: 38. Well, that was a waste of one hour of my life that I'll never get back

I got this bright idea to make a needle felted sheep. The idea hatched and grew and even though I had no white or off white fleece, I went ahead and tried it. I was so excited. I even shed blood for this little guy. (Note to self: needles hurt fingers)
I hate to even show him, but here goes.
Oh, that face is so sad!
I know. A sheep???? You may be muttering to yourself. A legitimate question. Kind of came out looking like a mutated cross between a rabbit and a pig. A PIGGIT. Or a RABBIG. Either way? Not a sheep. (poor little things eye is even hanging off)
Turn to the side, little Rabbig:
failed attempt at a pink sheep
Profile is not any better.
Not quite what my imagination had dreamed up.
QUICK LOOK OVER THERE! What's THAT?
Amaryllis number 2
I suppose distracting you away from the train wreck will do no good. The poor little thing is here to stay.

My first thought was that he looked like a guinea pig! A cute guinea pig! I think he's adorable.

Oh well, what a pretty amaryllis. all mine are done-but I started an avocado tree!

I love it and think it is absolutely perfect.

Awww, sheep or no, he is pretty cute!

Definitely need a flock of rabbigs! All your friends like him...he must be here to stay!

You know that you could never replicate him if you tried. He is a Unique and Special rabbig.

"Rabbig". You crack me up.

I thought maybe it was a Sparkly Red Mouse for Chaos. It is rather cute, though, in a we-don't-really-know-why sort of way.

It looks more like a sheep than the blob I came up with when I tried it last year. And I had an instruction book. Don't waste that hour of practice like I did. Try again. Bet the next one comes out better.

I like your rabbig, but I think you should make another one so he won't be lonely.

Posted by: Paula on 02.07.2008 AT 10:33 PM

He IS cute in a slightly pitiful way, as Bonny says...:)

Posted by: Norma on 02.07.2008 AT 10:15 PM

I think it looks like a cross between a mouse and a gerbil. A merbil.

Posted by: Cheryl on 02.07.2008 AT 10:01 PM

Mouse...or hamster...but plenty cute and lovable!

Posted by: Jean Marie on 02.07.2008 AT 09:31 PM

Aaaaaaw, I think he's cute!

Maybe not truly sheepy, but cute.

I think it looks like a pink rat. :-)

Now, now. That hour was a Learning Experience. Even if all you learned was to never spend another hour doing that again, you learned something.

I, for one, would try again. It is kinda cute.

Well, you tried, which is more than I've bothered to do! I like the needle-felted little creatures and things but haven't felt compelled to risk my fingers trying to make any of them myself.

Though, a little needle-felted Chappy sure would be nice....

Oh well!

I see a sheep... and I love that he's pink.

Love the bloom, too! ♥

The next one you do will look more sheepy. Or you could end up with a whole flock of rabbigs, no a bad thing as they are uniquely yours!

a pink capybara? he's definitely too cute in a slightly pitiful way.
