02.21.2008 :: 52. My day in a list
I have had such a busy day, I have neglected this poor blog. I bet a couple of you thought this might be the demise of the 365? Not on your life!
My day:
1. the usual stuff: work and junk
2. hair appointment where I spend an hour and a half (!!) getting a color other than gray put in.
3. And my eyebrows done. Honestly. If you don't do this for yourself, you should. Put it on your list right now. Eyebrow wax.
4. Realize the time! GAH!
5. A bit of handwringing over the dinner decision.
6. Chinese it is!
7. Rush home with Chinese food in a bag!
8. Notice the big, huge, beautiful moon shining down on me! It looks like it's showing off a bit. "I had an eclipse and you DIDN'T!!!"
9. Eat a small bowl of chicken lo mein
10. Did I say eat? Nah. Inhale!
11. Go to pick up Bethany from work.
12. Drop her off at home and realize that we don't have a square to spare. Stop at grocery store to pick up TP.
13. Spend $35 on "toilet paper" and a couple of other items of course. Who can go into a store and buy one thing? If you can, I applaud you!
14. now? Blogging. And wondering whether the weather will get in the way of a weekend plan. Rat it all.
Pink amaryllis is trying it's best to bloom despite it's ewwwy rotting bulb. It's getting pretty ugly too. The bulb, not the bloom!

I have gone into a store to buy one thing, left with $50 worth of stuff...and not the one thing I went in for!

It always amazes me how much of that show is used in every day dialog!!!
NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!!!

Hahaha, I'm with you on the $35 "toilet paper." Sheesh.
By the way, you MADE MY DAY yesterday with your "wind beneath our peeves" comment over at Norma's. I meant to tell you... It might carry over into making today, too.
Have a FUN FUN FUN weekend. XO and hugs all around.

I have been getting an every-6-weeks-color for most of my adult life. Gray came in when I was 20 and well, I like my hair brown. :) Eyebrows: my mom took me to get my eyebrows waxed and my nails done when I was 13... I have been every 2 weeks since. :)
The Wal-mart Phenomenon: I walk in needing lysol, a mophead, and some tp... I walk out $100 spent. Every.time.

I wonder what Deb is using on her hair. Hmmmm...
What color did you get? How funny that I finally stopped coloring my hair and you're starting. I know, right!
Susan looks great and I know you do, too. ♥

Well, I have a confession to make. Or I don't know if it qualifies as a confession as an admission of one of my faults. People WOULD mistake me for Jennifer Anniston IF ONLY I had eyebrows. If I were on the Wizard of Oz? I'd wish for eyebrows. I'm eyebrow deprived, and what I wouldn't do for a thick set that I could get waxed. As it is, I have to pencil or powder them in, and that always looks gross, so most of the time I don't and my face looks like it has no features. Or at least no eyebrows. So I envy you your unibrow if you have one. I would just like to have some. Then I have NO DOUBT that people would be mistaking me for Jen Anniston or Angelina Jolie left, right, and center.
Pray for the weather people to be WRONG...in a good way.

Yup, an hour and a half. Minimum. And an empty wallet too.
Ah, vanity.

I had a cut and color and brows too today -- it's Beauty Thursday!!
Posted by: Kathy on 02.21.2008 AT 10:31 PM
Hey! I had a cuttincolor today too! But I'm kind of growing my hair out, so my stylist/buddy did some pretend snipping, to give me a sense of of "adequate service for the money" while not really cutting much. We called it an "Air Cut" and then she pretended to spray my hair with stuff and then we laughed.
And then my husband took me to dinner and when I told him my Air Cut joke he didn't laugh but ate his fish taco with guacamole and corn relish, instead.
But I still laughed to myself, because it was still funny, to myself. And I had had some wine. And then I drank some more wine and felt sorry for people who would rather eat fish tacos with guacamole and corn relish instead of enjoying a lovely joke.
Later at home, I wondered how I was going to get the dye stains off my forehead. And then I decided to worry about that after i had some more wine.
I didn't see the moon and I didn't have my eyebrows waxed, but other than that...heck, we had so much in common today!

I saw that moon too and it was gorgeous!

That hour and a half? That's why I color my own hair . . . although, the flat color from a box doesn't look as good as professional color, I feel it's worth it for the time (and money) savings!
But, still, I suppose you were knitting for at least some of that time?

I'm dying over the "square to spare," as well as the fact that someone summarized the plot on Wikipedia. Of course, your post contains another Seinfeld reference -the Chinese restaurant episode, where they waited and waited... Oh, and how about the one where Elaine's hair stunk from Jerry's car? Or the Korean nail salon one? OK, I need to save these things for my own blog - just wanted to say howdy!!
