02.22.2008 :: 53. Frickin' weather

You won't hear me say that much, "frickin weather" because I usually love it all! But what was SUPPOSED to happen today was that my Norma was going to be making her way down to MY HOUSE and spend the night here. Then we were going on a train ride. All of it fun and wonderful. Instead?
Snow without shaking fist
Pretty, right? I suppose. But this is more how I see it:
Shaking fist at the snow
Shaking fist at snow! (Pay no attention to the man hand in that photo. It is not as manly as it looks. In fact, it's a perfectly proportioned woman hand. Just not in this photo for some reason).
Review? Snow. No Norma. No train. No fun.
The good thing? I did not clean my house for nothing. Because I did not clean my house. That decision I had started to regret as I looked around this morning at the piles on the counters and tables, the stack of mail on the desk. But then the snow started. Rescuing me from the embarrassment of clutter in front of a friend but plunging my weekend into non fun status.

And? (time for a bit of LOST talk) AARON????

Well, we had STUPID FREEZING RAIN here which didn't help my mood one bit!

I'm sorry your plans were ruined!

There you go baiting me with another Seinfeld reference (man hands) but I will refrain, and simply say that I'm sorry you guys got hosed by the weather. I didn't clean my house, either. Hmm.

I turned to Erin the second something was mentioned about her son and I said "Aaron." She didn't believe me right away. But her question was, "Does that make him one of the Oceanic Six?" Hmmm..... I wonder.

Yeah, today I think snow sucks and I am like you, I don't usually let the weather get me down.

MmmMMMmm, Sawyer.

LOST has been great this season. But if Aaron got off the island, what happened to Clair?

This season is blowing my little mind.

Oh, man, I have so been there. How many times have I realized something or other was off and then thought hey! At least I didn't scrub the shower over it!

"Frickin weather" at the very least!!
Darn.

Posted by: Vicki on 02.22.2008 AT 08:23 PM

Frickin' doesn't even begin to describe it. :(

I know -- Aaron! Too bad about the bummer weekend, though. You could always re-watch Lost...

Too bad!!! Don't plan to clean your house next time, and maybe it won't snow? And that is very very clearly NOT a man hand. Lots of reasons: that vein over your thumb looks just like mine... something pointy looking about the thumb, and the big give-away? Very very few men will make a fist where their thumb is over their pointer finger knuckle that way, most will make a fist where their thumb wraps around all the knuckles (to the side of your fist, not on top). Why? Because they know that when they punch somebody, they are likely to break their thumb if it's in the place yours is. So, if you're planning to punch anybody, wrap your thumb!!! :)

Well that sucks!

Lost: That was definitely a jaw dropping moment. Sawyer in his boxers though was sort of nice to see :)

I'd send you a spare bit of sunshine from the lot we're enjoying today, but I'm afraid it would be too little, too late, especially if you'd have to clean the house.

I'd say that I'm seeing a trend here with Norma and the weather... but it's doing the same thing to me. Every time I make plans to meet a knitter down in the city this happens. This weekend I was torn between SPA and a dye workshop at the Mannings. I couldn't decide so I decided on neither. I'm glad I did because I would have been TICKED. I think we got about 8 inches today.

It sounds like we're in the same boat: the fun-weekend-plans-ruined-by-snow boat.

At least Chappy's happy about the snow....

I must be building up some seriously good FUTURE travel karma, because so far this winter? CRAP, crap, and MORE CRAP. I'm broken-hearted and woebegone.

How 'bout that trip to the Caribbean, then, San? Hm? You think?

Yeah, Aaron! And Abigail and her friend reminded me of something this morning -- remember when Claire was told by that clairvoyant (or whatever he was) that she could never let someone ELSE raise her child? And clearly the circumstances of why she has him are BAD, since Jack wants nothing to do with it... et cetera.

I love this season!

Sandy, I'm so sorry. Mother Nature can be such a bitch sometimes.

Posted by: Cookie on 02.22.2008 AT 03:39 PM

Maybe if you had cleaned your house, and I had cleaned mine, everything would have worked out for Norma to travel. Hmmm....

Posted by: margene on 02.22.2008 AT 03:34 PM

Maybe Norma isn't supposed to travel? Didn't she try to go somewhere else and couldn't because of the weather?? Poor Norma & Sandy!
