03.30.2008 :: 89. Ready to read another book?

I thank all of you who joined in on the book discussion yesterday. Please chime in if you have something to say. Everyone should read the comments even if you haven't read the book, they are some of the most intelligent women I know having the most interesting discussion. And not one tomato was thrown. (yet anyway :)
My one regret is that I did not warn anyone that it was coming up. I just sprung it on you and if all of you have memories like me, well, most likely not one of you remembered that yesterday was book discussion day. I'll be better at that!
But the discussion as I said, can go on an on.
Anyone up for another book? Although I do want everyone to have a say in the book choice, I am going to just choose this one too. (Who called me a dictator???) This book comes on the recommendation nay, REQUIREMENT of Bethany. She has read it and has proclaimed a book that EVERYONE should read. So, I'll do my part to share her love of this book.

Always late to the party, I'm catching up on blog reading. I did 104 and 99 wpm on the typing test. Shocked myself actually.

As for the Mermaid Chair...I never finished reading it! I loved The Secret Life of Bees, so I was quite excited to read this one, and I just didn't care for it. Maybe I should try again. See what happens :)

No wonder you can post every day, you can do it 30% faster than some of us. My excuse - I never took typing in high school.I was surprised I could type 42 wpm, I remember when I as at 22. I guess, like in knitting, practice helps and Lord knows, I get enough practice blogging just twice a week. I think, though, my backspace key is wearing out.

I think my book group read that. Or maybe we're reading it this month. It usually meets on a night I can't go, but this month I can, so maybe I get to kill two birds with one stone.

I got up to 57. I thought I was faster.

Have you read The Secret Life of Bees? I liked the book and loved the fact that (nearly) all the characters had meaningful names -- although I haven't seen any discussion of that.

I read The Book Thief last summer and thought it was very well written. I will look forward to the discussion.

Hmm how soon should we need to finish reading the book? My library has it but there's a little waiting list, might be a few weeks before I can get my hands on it.

Although I am a frequent reader of your blog, I totally missed the book selection. I am planning on reading The Book Thief, and participating in the next discussion.

Well, I got 86, which is disappointing considering my profession. But having said that, David walked in in the middle and asked me questions about whether I wowed them with Tabata at the gym, which I answered. So I plead Stupid Husband. Ergo, my previous comment. XO

I suppose I should go empty my overfull bladder before I do the typing test.

I was intrigued by the book discussion yesterday about the whole "affair" thing. I'd be up for an affair, but I just never knew how to go about it. Like HOW do people DO these things??? It sounds like I have to go to an island and meet a random guy and sleep in a tent? I *hate* camping. LOL

73. I'll check out the book. Sounds interesting!

Hmm, I read Book Thief and my reaction was a resounding yawn.... (grin)

Oh, and 76 words per minute....

That was fun. I got 72, 83, and then 77. And that was on the laptop where I don't really like the keys. Hmmm... my typing speed has gone up since I stopped working.

Seventy-one words a minute, but I panicked because the cat was watching me and I could just feel her judging me.
