I'm glad to know it wasn't only me with the Thursday-Friday feeling -- from the minute my alarm went off yesterday morning!! I'm afraid to think of how screwed up next week is going to be, but with an extra day off, I'll deal.

I think what's happening there is not hybridization, but known as "reverting." In other words, to get that white-edged purple, they had to hybridize a few varieties to get it, one of which was solid white. Sometimes things that are bred to be marled or multi-colored will revert back to the original in new growth or through seeds. Technically you should remove those parts if you want to keep it purple edged with white. This happens to my euonymous (sp?) all the time.

That is a beautiful bush and so clever to be bicolor in several ways. BTW, I thought it was Friday for most of today, too.

My lilac with the white edges is fading quickly. That is one beautiful bush!

I have white and I have purple but I don't have purple and white together!
