05.31.2008 :: 150. Today I shopped

Seed Stitch, a yarn store
My first stop was Seed Stitch Fine yarn to buy needles for the project ala tangled yarn of the previous post. SOMEDAY I will get the yarn wound and be ready to start. I am an optimist. Please. PLEASE do not rain on my parade!
:)
I did not buy yarn but this yarn store has wonderful stock! If you are ever in the area, be sure to stop in. The best part? They had a fully stocked needle wall. I appreciate that as many stores have slim pickings for needles. The people there were welcoming and friendly. What more could a knitter ask for? A knit night. That's right. They have one on Thursdays. Maybe someday I will go but for the next 6 Thursday evenings, I will be across the street:
BF Goodstitch
BF Goodstitch where I will be taking a crewel class. This beautiful street, that Margene knew about way before me, by the way (All the way in Utah and me? In the next town. Go figure) has it all. Yarn store, Crewel/embroidery/needlepoint store, chocolate/ice cream store/, plant store, pastry shop, sandwich shop, quilt shop and bead shop. Something for everyone or Everything for someone.
Then I stopped for lunch at Polonus European Deli for some Pierogi
Pierogis for lunch
I then walked up to the Salem Witch Trial burial ground (Had to work off the pierogis, didn't I?)
Salem, Massachusetts witch trial burial ground
I was going to do a gravestone rubbing for you but....
No gravestone rubbings
Shucks. Against the rules. (I wasn't, just so you know. )
I then drove to Burlington to stock up on my Philosophy skin care items at the new Nordstroms. (Giveaway of Philosophy products coming up in the blog soon, be on the lookout) I thought about banging on Claudia's door but thought better of it when I remembered that it is rude to show up unannounced and out of the blue. So I did not.
And on my way home, happy and my debit card smoking, I spotted this guy and felt a bit sad and very lucky indeed.
He's broke
How was your Saturday?

I think we've driven by that guy too at that intersection. I do feel sad and lucky, and also wonder what his story is (that can't be a good or easy way to raise money).

Let me know next time you're near my neck of the woods, willya?

You should've called up. I must be in your cell.

Sounds like a lovely day! MMMM! Pierogi! I love making them (of course only once a year, at Christmas and enough is made to be frozen. I should make it more often.)

Thanks for the news about the no rubbings any more. We're going up in a few weeks. That's one of my favorite streets because there is also a quilting shop a few doors down. (Did you miss that one???) I'm not one for all the witch stuff, but the maritime history is more my thing. It's such a historic seaport.

I try to help those intersection guys - a piece of pizza, a bottle of water, change... I didn't used to be that way until I went to a funeral of a 52 yr old and her 22 yr old son spoke her eulogy, saying when he questioned her support of these guys, she taught him it's better to give and be wrong than not give at all. Life can be so sad.

On a happier note those look like the real pierogies of my childhood, not the frozen ones my kids think of as pierogies. Yumm.

Love that burial ground and have walked through it a couple of times. It's fascinating. That yarn shop is very nice and friendly, too. How cool you have finally been checking out your own back yard. ;-)
Watch your mail...

I had a very colorful day and enjoyed the heck out of it.

That street sounds like a wonderful place to have a gathering of fiber friends.

Spent the day readying the house for a pahtay! I would much rather have come shopping with you, I haven't been to BF Goodstitch in ages.

I spent the day gardening, reading a kids' book for a book club, watching soccer, and making pizza for dinner. A lovely, lazy day. Sounds like yours was awesome, too!

Spent the morning going to garage sales, picked up plants for the garden and front flower bed and got them planted this evening. Finished a hat and started a sock, all in all a fairly productive day.

My Saturday was great. Went to see the Sex in the City movie with a great friend, went out for shoe shopping and cosmos after. Laughed a lot. Did not buy any Manolos.

Those Pierogi look delicious!

Well, first I got delightfully tweaked on my new ADHD medication, so hit the ground running with laundry, dishes and picking up around the house. Then my husband had me committed to a psychiatric hospital for observation.

I passed all the tests at the hospital and my meds wore off 3 hours ago, the same time I commenced to making mess without regard, hither and yon. I am now drinking a lovely white wine with a hint of peach and apple and trying to figure out why my kitchener makes nipples.

My Saturday was LONNNNNNNG and interesting, in many different ways. More to come in the jumping-off-the-cliff department.

BUT WHERE ARE THE RADISHES???? LX

My Saturday was awesome. Hubby took the kidlet in the morning so I got to sleep in, kidlet managed to ride up the hill between the park and home which she was struggling with doing, I got to spend the afternoon and early evening babysitting for a wee little 8 week old, and now I'm home eating tuna-mac salad and chilling out. All around, aces!

I know the intersection where you saw the guy. There are usually several of them. Yes, it is sad.

Went daylily and hosta hunting in Carlisle.
