It occurs to me that as a new knitter, I was right away knitting Starmores and socks. As an OLD knitter I am stuck on scarves.
Believe me, the irony does not escape me.

I've got a hankering to knit dishcloths. After I finish a lace project. Funny, ha ha, or funny weird, I don't know.

It's the simple things that help to clear the mind and free the soul. Or something like that!
As I was knitting away on Icarus last night, all I could think about was a simple seed stitch scarf I want to knit out of some handspun alpaca.

Ironic, but gratifying.

I haven't knit a stitch in a week. :)

Yes, but they're complicated scarves.

Scarves are long aren't they?
Posted by: joan on 08.22.2008 AT 07:23 AM
I'm impressed that you started with Starmores. I've been knitting since Noah sheared sheep on the ark and I've just started on them.
Scarves are good. It's your reward for all your diligence.

A time for everything. Now that you can knit anything, you can appreciate elegant simplicity.

hee hee. I was musing the same thing the other day.

I understand what you mean. I can't seem to pick up a pair of socks to save my life and I keep cranking out scarves. Maybe it's a universal suck hole that will let us out by the end of the year?
