09.02.2008 :: 244. only half a blech and a lot of pretty cool adjectives

Today is Tuesday that feels an awful lot like Monday as I had a nice long weekend. Well, not all nice since I was suffering with the Lobster's Revenge! (Credit for that hilarious name goes to Manise of the comments. She is blogless but she is wonderful and that comment CRACKED me up!)(BUT? Cookie was the originator of that wonderful phrase! Sorry, Cookie to give away the credit! :) Perhaps it is my delicate system abhorring the lobster but I doubt it since I had the dizziness off and on since Friday.
So, in review, I have the Lobster's revenge, a thousand mosquito bites and dizziness to boot.
My goals for this week and some random stuff thrown in for fun:
~keep the house reasonably clean and non cluttered. Can I pull it off? Tune in all week for the truth in cleaning.
~take pictures of all I have to show you. Some birthday gifts, a scarf or two. There is lots. Perhaps a Fig photo, you never know.
~Make it alive through the week and make my way North to do some blog visiting. OH GOSH, I cannot wait!
~Yes, I am attending the Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival this weekend!
~Dave is not, despite some pleading, begging, crying and hanging onto his virtual knees. Maybe next year.
~Why do I keep looking at these dogs? Fig would not be pleased!
~Are you sick of my lists yet?
~ I love lists
~Crickets really make a late summer evening special, don't they?
~I got a new phone today and it made me ridiculously happy. A red LG Shine. It is wicked cool/awesome/sweet/crazy/rad/phat/dude/badass/gnarly/most excellent/chill: Please choose your own adjective!
~I even made a call to Norma by mistake. I was a LG Shine virgin. I did not know what I was doing.
~Pleading ignorance works, right?
~Who's going to VT sheep and wool? Who likes red phones? Who likes red? Who is reading Pride and Prejudice? ME ME!

Shame on you, now I have phone envy. Mine is a plain old gray one that feels ancient but it's really only 3 years old and works fine so no reason to replace it. And I thought it was so slick when I bought it. And I also have VT Sheep and Wool envy. This was not a year for fiber festivals, but maybe next year.

Give Fig a pat for me. He's a cutie, even if he isn't red.

I do love the sound of crickets during a summers night.
They lull me to sleep.
I want a new phone, too so I can text!
Wish, wish, wish I could go to VT S&W!
Feel better soon!

No one does a list like you, Sandy! Isn't it fun to have a red phone? I just got one, too. Makes me feel like a fashionista, or something!

CUUUUUUTE PHOONNNNNNNE! And you called at just exactly the right time to prevent me from having a very unattractive meltdown right there on the campus. So I'm glad you did it. Heh.

My feet hurt from trudging all over that place today. The Clarks whatever you call them open-back whatever they are -- sort of look like slippers and I thought they'd be so perfect for much fast walking -- sort of let me down. Either that or I did way too much walking, which I did. And way too much lugging of my crap up and down stairs, etc.

Sigh. I think I'm getting tired. :D

I'd love to go to VT Sheep and Wool but the commute from CO is a bit too long. I have a red chocolate phone (the old version- I rarely use the phone so I don't replace it often). I love red shirts, red sneakers and caps, but not big red cars (trucks, vans, big SUVs- I only like little red sporty or cute- Mini, VW bug- cars). I like red food- rare steak, apples, tomatoes, cherries, salmon, grapefruit, cranberries, and peppermint discs. I'm not reading P&P, but am working my way thru McCarthy's Bar (quite funny), Black Swan Green (not far enough into it yet so not fully engaged with the characters), Patrick Taylor's An Irish Country Doctor (very Herriot-like, I'm enjoying its slow pace), Sandra Brown's White Hot, and various "quick snack" reads. I tend to have several books going at once and pick them up depending on my mood (or how soon they are due back at the library, or what happens to be at hand when I've misplaced the other book I had going...). Hmmm...sounds kind of like my various WIPs. :)

Did you breathe into the phone when you called her? :D

I'm not going anywhere. Just going to sit here and feel unloved while waiting for Fig photos.
