10.28.2008 :: 64. sticker on a bumper and blue in the sky

don't believe.jpg
I saw this bumper sticker the other day on a car in front of me and I can't stop thinking about it. Which goes against it's grain.
It's a strong message, one that will do me some good to remember sometimes.
But I shouldn't think about that too much!
:)
Hey look! Up in the sky!
a glimpse of blue in between the rain we had today
There was a bit of blue peeking out for about 14 seconds today. For most of the day I thought that the sun just had forgotten to get up (Which by the way, coincidentally, Derek did today. Forgot. To. Get. Up.) It was dark. And stormy. It was a dark and stormy day. Lots of rain, no snow but then the blue sky poked in for, like I said, 14 seconds and then the wind started howling. Howl. Ing. Which is pushing in the cold.
Hmm. I need to get some mittens out for tomorrow morning..

I was wearing a tank top last weekend. At least it's cooler than that this week.

That is a powerful message. We should stop occasionally and examine what we think and why we think it.

Evil kitties, hungry for breakfast, foiled my plan of forgetting to get up.

Darned cats.

Well,I've had the mittens out for a couple of weeks now but we just turned the heat on for the first time. Today's wind is even more bitter. I'm disappointed that there was no snow, though.

We still have some wind gusts and it was snowing again a little while ago but it's not sticking.

Obviously suffering from frozen brain cells as indicated by sentence structure in my previous comment . Never heard of the wind freezing , but it is freezing cold outside today ! ;-)

I had a hard time getting out from under the toasty flannel sheets this am . We had the same sort of day here yesterday, but the rain turned to snow overnight so we've got a light dusting of the stuff on the ground . The wind is still howling and it's freezing ! Way too early for this ...

Ugh - we've had two days of dark and stormy and windy. What makes it worse is the delay in changing the clocks back. It's so dark at 7am that I don't want to get out of bed!

That saying has been a favorite of mine for years. Did you get any snow?

The wind was awful, wasn't it? Have to say that I was hoping for snow this morning. I'm a winter person who doesn't mind shoveling. Weirdo, right?

I wish I'd had my camera with me when the sun came out. It was blue on one side and super dark grey on the other. The brightly lit autumn trees against the grey roiling clouds was very cool.

I saw the same bumper sticker this weekend on the New York thruway, and it really gave me a chuckle!

I gave my new mittens a test drive today -- SUCCESS! And they are going to be all the more welcome tomorrow, when it's not going to get above 34, they say. And possibly blizzarding. Ick. Why am I still up? And yet, I can't fall asleep yet. Damnit.

Did Derek get fired????

Our sky looked NOTHING like that today! think gray, wet, windy, and SNOWY. And, sorry, it's just way too early for snow (grin).

Even if I DO get to wear my handknits when it's this cold.
