10.31.2008 :: 61, I voted tonight
Sort of. One of our 4 trick or treaters was a voting booth. After I showered the 4 of them with gobs of candy (it's a good thing to be the only ones late in the trick or treat evening) I cast my vote.
I told him how important his costume was and that I wanted my vote to count. I wonder who won in the Samuel the paperboy voting booth. There was not a hanging chad in sight.

Happy Halloween. My inner witch was happy today!

We haven't gotten kids in a while, our street (in town!) is wicked dark... only the light at the very far end consistently works, and there are no/few houses along one side and the ones on the other are up a hill. ANYhow, what a great costume! I actually voted yesterday, for real. We can vote early here. I figured I would beat the lines. And, if anything should happen to take me from the world between now and Tuesday, I've voted!

What a creative costume! I feel bad letting you know we get about 60 trick or treaters each year in our tiny town, but we are right across the road from the school where the 7-8th graders did a mini-haunted house this year. We have to vote by mail now because our precinct is so small, so I feel a certain nostalgia about voting booths!

I love it. I was so pleasantly and truly SURPRISED to see the utterly huge amounts of creativity that the medical students had in their costumes yesterday. Not all of them wore them -- but most, if not all, were going to a party they had planned for them last night, and I was amazed that they had any time or creative energy for costumes. I would have pegged them as those scientist types that would have no use or time or whatever for a Halloween costume -- that they would feel the same way about IT as they would feel about, say, something "useless" like a poem. Heh.
But no. They had SUPER-AWESOME costumes. Like Super Mario. And Popeye. And Michael Jackson in the just-before-he-turned-100%-crazy years (on the edge). And of course Sarah Palin. And a mermaid (that's Ally) and Obama & Biden, and on and on.
