11.04.2008 :: 57. Glutton
My mother would call me a Glutton for Punishment. She loves phrases. Someone should call the men in the little white coats because I am srsly thinking of joining the NaNoSweMo. I mean, if you meet me, I'm sure I come off as a reasonably sane person and yet.....
I have always been a terrible joiner. And none more than here in blogland. If there was a knitalong, I joined. I never finished but I joined. Never. Okay maybe once. I'm thinking Everyday Cardigan.
Then the NaNoBloMo came along. Blogging during the month of November. And I did it! Remarkable for someone who was THIS close to leaving blogging.
Then along came 365 blogging. After calling some of my dearest friends crazy for even thinking about that, somehow I joined. Never, mind you believing that I could do it. I really did set myself up for failure. But a funny thing happened along the way. Here it is, November 4th and I am still blogging every day. Barring a catastrophic failure of electronics or the brain, I think I'm going to make it! No one is more surprised than me.
So, here I am, sailing along the final stretch of the 365. Dare I say that it is even NO problem nowadays. I hope I do not tempt my fate with that statement.
Then I have to go mess it up by challenging myself to do a sweater in a month???? SRSLY. CRAZY.
I don't think I can do it. I don't think it is physically possible.
And yet..

~~
Talk me down off that ledge. Or jump with me, either way.

If they would run this in any month but November...(or Dec) Say, February. I'd be all over it. But right now I'm tied up with the holiday-making and don't have time for knitting a sweater.
I'll cheer you on, though!

I think a sweater in a month is totally doable. I've done it! I did the green Peace Fleece one in like two weeks. So it CAN be done. I'm even thinking of it, though I've got so much on my plate and my arms and elbows and back and neck hurt so much that it might not be advisable. However, as several people have already said, even if we don't finish, we'll be much farther ahead than if we had not joined!
I have not officially joined, but think I might unofficially knit a very plain sweater, and see if I can do it. Hang on! We're jumping together! XO

I say to do it. Who cares if you do or don't finish it? It's knitting! It's fun! Why not do it?

Here, hold my hand. We'll jump together. Because we have proven that we can do anything. And that's what friends are for.....

I will not push you or join you. I will stand here on solid ground and wish you well;-)

Do it! You need another sweater. You're cold and it's only getting colder, and it's not like you can wear Fig to work to stay warm or something?
I may need my own butterfly net men soon. o.0

I'm actually quite relieved that you are doing something normal, like knitting a sweater in a month. You see, on my Google Reader list, I thought i was clicking on you, but actually clicked on another knitblogger, who wrote about getting up this morning at 4:30 to go out for a jog. But I still thought I was reading you and, no offense or anything, but I was wondering if I should call someone on your behalf. Then I realized my mistake, came over here read your real post and thought, "hell yeah, she can knit a sweater in a month."

Go for it!!!

Even if you don't finish the sweater, you'll be much farther along than if you never started. JUST DO IT! What can it really hurt? srsly? (that makes me laugh as I've never seen it before);-)

How about I nudge you off the edge and stay safely up here? I have every confidence that you can do it...me, not so much. :)

I can't join you, but would be only too happy to push you off the sweater ledge and join everyone else. You can do it!
