Mitten Monday, Tuesday edition

Has turned into Wednesday edition. I did a bit of an experiment last night to see if bloglines would pick up the feed for this part of the blog. It did not. So I will cross post on the main blog!

Please do check out these Warm Hands!
Anna, Luvtocraft who has finished a pink pair of mittens!
Margene started a pair of mittens to keep her warm during her trips to the Beautiful Utah Mountains!
Melissa has already finished 2 pairs of mittens! Her mittens lounge with her cat!
Rob is making great progress on a pair of beautiful fleur de lis mittens and also has a finished pair! Wow!
Beth has a pair in the works made of Noro! And some great sky photos! Thanks, Beth! (tsk for photoing while driving! :)
Jan is in the mitten planning stage. The most fun part except for the wearing!
Carole claims she started some mittens and then dazzled me on her blog with multiple yarn purchases. My envy has kicked in!
Leena
finished a Rovaniemi pair of mittens. This is the first time I have seen them and believe me, it won't be the last. I will be doing a bit more research on these. Thanks, Leena for knitting such beauty!
Liz is planning! Enjoy that process, Liz!
Paula has one finished Noro Shinano mitten, one koigu mitten in the works and a homegrown Pineapple! No kidding!
Hilary is still planning while finishing a baby sweater. Can't have cold babies, can we?
Karen cutie pie daughter has warm hands! Go see her Urban Necessity mittens! Looks like they will be warm AND functional!
Ann has a finished pair of WARM lamb's pride bulky mittens. Warm hands to drive in! Hmmm...that gives me an idea!
Wendy has a finished pair of Vinternatt mittens that have me dreaming and scheming. Don't worry, she's got another gorgeous pair in queue! Go Wendy! :)

Nancy S. (see, Nancy? I BOLDED your name! :) is making a making a pair of mittens from sock yarn knitted with lace weight kid mohair!
Kristin made a pair of mittens with lornas lace (not koigu like I thought. I guess I cannot indeed play along to the GUESS THAT YARN game!) She also finished a pair of fingerless mittens, which of course COUNT.
Blogless Debbie has finished a pair of mittens that can be viewed in her photo album and has started a pair from the book Mighty Mitts & Flap Caps,
Blogless no more Lisa finished a pair of fingerless mittens and has wound up the yarn for her daughter's thrummed mittens!

MaryV is knitting away on her convertible mittens! Go Mary!
Kristin who is working away on her Nordic mittens. Kristin may be on to something when she suggested hiring someone to weave in ends! Just what I need! A personal weaver!
Bear knits has a newbie mitten knitting learning experience on the needles! You can do it, Bear knits! You can!
Julia, newcomer, is knitting a pair of Floral Fair-Isle Gloves and mittens planned! She fits in nicely around here!
Candace, newcomer, has a pair of fingerless mittens finished and is planning tufted mittens. I love the name alone.
Laura knit a pair and a spare. Which when you think about it, makes perfect sense!
Okay, that's the updates for this week. I'm sure I missed some because that is the kind of knitalong hostess I am. I still need to update the list. Whether or not you are on the list or updates, for cripes sake,
KNIT MITTENS!
Are your hands cold?

Wrong day, I know, but I wanted to let you know I've finished my first pair of knitted mittens for the Warm Hands knit along.

The mittens are for my fairy god-daughter (she really is my god-daughter, I just throw in the fairy part for fun) who is turning one year old tomorrow 11/3/05.

Here are the mitten stats:

yarn: Lamb's Pride, 100% Cotton Fleece in blush (used less than one 1/2 of a skein)
pattern source: "Knitting for Baby" by Falick & Nicholas
I did add the embroidery accents to the top of the mittens, and they are so CUTE! I'll update my blog with pictures soon too.

I've made a little progress on my mittens!!

Posted by: Carrie at November 6, 2005 05:58 PM

I'm so impressed with everyone's mittens so far! I have a long way to go, but many people participating in this KAL to inspire me.
I finished the first of my second pair of fingerless mitts, and look forward to casting on for the second.
I think I'm a few weeks away from the original tufted mittens I wanted to work on for the KAL, but I've got to get my "gifty" mitts finished first.
