People who are knitting to get rid of cold hands!

Here's the list of Mitten knitters! (remember, I use the word "MITTEN" generically. You may be knitting gloves. Or fingerless hand covers. Or you may be wrapping yarn around your hands and calling them warm. It's all the same to me!

Check this list often, this is where I will add new names as people join in!~~~~~

A FEW THOUGHTS!
1. It is never too late to join this knitalong. Remember, we are just knitting to warm hands. Not get prizes or fame. Okay, maybe fame. But no prizes. Join anytime. There is no time limit!
2. If you leave a comment to older posts on this blog, they will not show up until I approve them. This does not mean that you cannot comment, just know that they won't appear right away. It's a stab at spam control. It's not the best system, but it's in place and it's hard to adjust!
So, comment away!! GO AHEAD! What are you waiting for?

~Paula who I thought had a giant ball of yarn or a tiny basset hound (sept 8th entry)
~Pat who not only knits beautiful things, but quilts beautiful things!
~Keri who knits sweaters that are WAY too big for her!
~Dave who ran the Bitchin' Mittens knitalong. Now, he can just bitch about mittens.

I think the Movie on Cathy's blog bogs you down. My browswer wanted me to reinstall something as soon as I tried to open her page (I said no) and then her page loaded - mostly - with a little message at the bottom that 1 item was remaining and the URL had "Movie" in the title. That's my guess anyway!

I'm on the look out for a pair of hand warmers that really jump out at me and say "Knit Me, Wear Me!" In the meantime, when my two hats in progress are finished the right dpns will be available for a pair or two of warm mittens for children. Our church is having a Warm Wear drive in November and I'd like to have a couple of sets of hats and gloves/mittens available.

He he he, 'plonker' is such a British word! Its only been in my vocabulary since I moved to the UK. If I was still in Australia I would probably have been far less polite! Thanks for signing me up to Warm Hands. Now to decide what to make...

I would love to be a part of this knitalong! I picked up some mitten books (Folk Mittens and Knit Mittens!) over the summer, and would love to delve right in - and this seems like a great way to start colorwork too ;)

Thanks for doing this!

I think I fixed the problem with my blog. I had tried to put a video up and it was stealing all the bandwidth (or I think that's what he said).
I'm going to go knit mittens now. *sigh*

Hi,
I started to knit my first ever mittens about a month ago and then lost the pattern. I just bought another copy and will be giving it another go in the next month or so and I'd like to join this knitalong!! Thanks!

Count me in! I've just finished 2 pairs of fingerless gloves (one for me, one for a friend) but both still need embellishment so they're not 100% done yet. I'm working on fingerless gloves for both of my daughters and for another friend of mine. :)

If you haven't worked out how to make your list alphabetical here's how:

1)Copy and Paste your whole list into a MW Word document.
2)Select all the text.
3)On the Table Menu point to "Convert" and click "Text to Table"
4)In the box that opens under "separate textat"click the "other" option and type in the box: ~
5)This makes your text into a single columned table and all you have to do now is on the Table menu click "sort" and select "sort by column 1"

This does it.

Hope its helpful

Oh, dear. I'm setting myself up here but this might be just the motivation I need for Adrian's Squirrel and Oak mittens, pattern here: http://www.helloyarn.com/squirrelmittens.htm
